I wanted to convert it to AVI using Virtual Dub but, when I try to open this file VD reports " Unable to locate a video codec to decompress the video format 'avc1' (unknown)".I have used Virtualdubb to create a INFO.txt of this video file and I am attaching it.Please help me learn how I should deal with this format if I needed to convert them. Thanks & T.C.Bye! Thanks " Baldrick " I have installed https://komisar.gin.by/old/1924/x264vfw.1924kMod.x86.exe.

The first one did not run when I tried to install it. Is that one required or can I do without it?Now when I load the video file on Virtual Dub, I'm not getting the massage anymore, but I cannot view or preview the file either. All I'm getting is a black screen.

In fact two black screens. And if I try to convert the file to Xvid the VD crashes. I am attaching the crash report. I don't know much about these and I hope you would be able to retrieve the cause. Thanks & T.C.Bye! I think ffdshow has some support for AVC1 video, but you ocdec have to enable it in the VfW video settings/codecs section.

(I'm not at a virtuwldub with ffdshow installed, so I apologize for being a little vague. ) I thought I recalled reading (on this forum, at least) that the DirectShow input plugin is broken/not recommended, and that the Quicktime plugin is recommended for MP4s, instead. Always worked for me, never had problems with it.Try, its a possible solution.Claudio I'm willing to admit I could be mistaken and thinking about the MP4 plugin, instead.

I don't really use the input plugins - I'm just way virtuldub used to doing virrualdub the 'old way,' with AVISynth.Ah, MvC2?Avisynth is certainly more practice at these times. My 2D games to Record tests are MVC2 and SFHDR. Hi!First of all I'd like to thank everyone for the info.Cauptain, I have downloaded the Direct show Input driver, but I couldn't find any file named Plugins32 in my VD's avvc1 there's a Plugin folder where all my plugins are kept. After I had extracted the DirectShowInput Driver I found three items there :-1.

Folder Named "Release"2. Folder named "X64"3. Document named "Copying".Now I assume that its abc1 folder named "release" is what I need but where shall I put it.Thanks again & T.C.Bye! Use Avidemux to cut.Claudio First of all I'd like to make it clear to all of you masters that I've never used Avidemux [ just because the saved file is not vidtualdub video file and can only be played with Avidemux].I need a lesson on using this program that so many say's to be very usefull, avvc1 for now after google' ing I was able to cut a clip from the video and that is what I'm up loading. Here I should inform you all that while trying to load the video to cut a clip, Avidemix informed me that the video has used B frame ?!

and it could use a certain method. At this point I ignored the suggestion first and Avidemux crashed. Later after accepting the suggestion I was able to cut the clip. Thou I don't know why there is viirtualdub audio in All kind time of days! The task such: it is necessary to debug operation VirtualDub' that it could work with files MOV/MP4, codecs "avc1 H.264" and "mp4 MPEG-4 Video".I virtualdun absolutely became exhausted.

Before operating system reinstallation all worked well how much I remember even special efforts did not apply: copied in a folder "Plugins32" a file "Quicktime.vdplugin" and in virtualrub folder "plugins" a file "Deshaker.vdf" and all worked on hurrah. Now, tried everything, shoveled all Internet.

Put quicktime, took down and put quicktime alternative. Put different the codec-paki, adjusted under recommendations on other sites -. Put H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Codec with free-codecs.com - it is useless.

It is remarkable that GSpot about both codecs spoke always "Codec Status Undetermined".In what a trouble? What reasons and regularities (except my dullness) virrualdub be? Truth on Windows can there are no codecs? Whereas them to deliver, whence to download? Now in VirtualDub 1.9.7 files open in the form of small gray small squares.

VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 swears: "AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (80040154)".OS: Windows 7 64 bit (before stood just the same) I join a question, only slightly I paraphrase it (not to produce similar subjects):How to accustom VirtualDub to work with AVCHD M2TS?I so understand that is necessary scenario and directShow to use, but could not find, where codecs for directX (something VirtualDub swears that the codec cannot find for this type) are adjustedAdding from 1/16/2012 virtyaldub, esteemed https://www.ixbt.com/divideo/digital-vid -faq.shtml and understood that for m2ts it is better to use nevertheless native PMB.

Put quicktime, took down and put quicktime alternative. Wvc1 different the codec-paki, adjusted under recommendations on other sites -As I understand you:cool:https://www.ixbt.com/divideo/stabilization-1.shtml Well I, for example, from article could open an original avchd-roller in virtual dub with the help directshow source a plug-in, vritualdub the pleasure the person from it was not - for some reason is very slowly decoded and produces 50 / doubled frames.

From different variants of a stage it appeared the most successful through ffmpeg in avi (recoding in mpeg4-ASP, in the people =xvid/divx), or similar recoding through avidemux (but on some other rollers the last variant gave yankings). Serg FalkonCosts at me DirectShow, and ffdshow tried repeatedly.264/MPEG-4 AVC Codec with free-codecs.comHow who is called also the vendor?Already I will not recall precisely.

And which should be put? Advise.Today tried to clean system, delivered a pure oak, to it fastened versions of plug-ins QuickTime and DShowInputDriver. Files of type MOV/avc1 H.264 opened in the full size of the screen, truth the screen black and got out an error: "MISSING CODEC (avc1)".

Where to take correct avc1 the codec.Thanks.Screens GSpot for both types of files, and also the list of video of codecs in system (according to GSpot) in nesting.Adding from 1/16/2012 23:31:And still, explain to me, here there is Quicktime Import v0.2.0.0 (install) which I install, and for what Virutaldub Import v0.2.0.0 (source)? FLV into Virtualdub - Doom9's ForumWelcome to Doom9's Forum, Viirtualdub in-place to be for everyone interested in DVD virtuadlub you start posting please read the forum rules.

By posting to this forum you agree to abide by the rules. I've been able to import FLV into VirtualDub using AVISynth. It works fine. The avs script is simple.DirectShowSource("D: eset5.flv")However, when seeking in VirtualDub the video is "laggy" and the video produces graphical glitches that are not present in MPC or other media players. There are two solutions for this. I think.1. Encode it to AVI first using VirtualDub. I tried this but then the AVI file produces the glitching that VirtualDub had.2.

Use another program to convert lossless AVI first. Any software to do this? 3. You can open FLV files directly in VirtualDub through the FLV input plugin:https://gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler/Plugins/FLV/index.html4. DirectShowSource works best with the parameters "fps=" and "convertfps=true", since many FLVs have variable frame rate. Besides, a lot depends on how good is the FLV splitter "preferred" by the DirectShow engine. 3. Just installed it. I forgot to say the flv file is h.264 and aac audio so this is giving me a "missing codec (avc1)" message since it does not have support for this.

Maybe I'm missing something with that vjrtualdub. I have h.264 enabled in LAV video.4. Still has issues. VirtualDub requires a VfW-based H.264 codec.

You can codec avc1 virtualdub between ffdshow and https://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/. As for Virtialdub, VirtualDub needs https://gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler/AACACM/index.html.Regarding DirectShowSource: build an adequate GRF file first:https://avisynth.org/mediawiki/Direct.ning_GRF_filesOR give a try to FFmpegSource2 instead. FFMpegSource2 however is perfect! Is there an easier way to export as AVI other than using Huffyuv (I tried direct stream copy but the file does not play using LAV, Mediainfo states it's just YUV). I viryualdub can't get audio even after installing that ACM AAC codec but I can get audio if I go the FLV input plugin route and just select direct stream copy of audio.Basically virtualfub I need is a way to get audio working using FFMpegSource2 and I'm all set.

Script is this:FFmpegSource2("D: est5.flv")It's probably a simple solution.Edit:FFmpegSource2("D: est5.flv",atrack=-1)That is all I need right? :P Is there an easier way to export as AVI other than using Huffyuv (I tried direct stream copy but the file does not play using LAV, Mediainfo states it's just YUV). I also can't get audio even after installing that ACM AAC codec but I can get audio if I go the FLV input plugin route and just select direct stream copy of audio. If you are using Direct Stream Copy on your AVS file (which is loaded using FFMS2 internally), then what you are directly copying is raw frames decoded by FFMS2.

Virtualdub has no knowledge of the original source file, just the decoded frames that are corec output of the AVS script. In this case, MediaInfo reporting that the video is of type YUV is expected (and the file will be crazy big).

Its not uncommon for media player apps on windows to not play these files by default, usually a setting as to be enabled somewhere (LAV should be able to play it though). Alternatively you can use avidemux and save the flv as mp4.Then you can use DGIndexNV to index the mp4 file and open with DGSource.

No need to mess around cdec VfW codecs. If you index with DGIndexNV there cofec be any problems virfualdub seeking whatsoever. PROBLEM: Vittualdub opening a .MOV file in VirtualDub, the "Missing codec AVC1" error message is displayed.SOLUTION:Download and install FFDShow > https://bit.ly/1uFdqAdDownload plugins (not mentioned in the video) > https://www.videohelp.com/software?d=V.This method is working under:- Windows 7 32bit- Windows 7 64bitThis method is NOT working virtualddub Windows 8.1 64bit So, i had a wvc1 file which i could not get any video player software to play.

Finally after a bit of a research, i ran into G-Spot (the software that tells what what codecs are required to play my file cosec whether i had those codecs on my machine). Apparently, this video file of mine had the codec signature (also referred to as the 4cc) as AVC1. Here's a screenshot of what this looked liked in gspot. You may want to click to enlarge it.Also, i learnt that the related codec was not present on my machine, which explained why i was not able to play this particular file.

A av1 search virtuualdub google for AVC1 led me to ffdshow. So, i downloaded and installed it. Then i gave my video file a try again - still no use :( I am sure, if virtualddub are reading this till now, this is where you've come and stopped. This blog entry will hopefully help u take the next steps. After having installed ffdshow, i expected gspot to tell me that virtualdun had the nessecary codecs to play the birtualdub.

I fired it again only to see the same screen as above.I tinkered around until i found the problem. Here's what i think you should do: Start the ffdshow configuration utility (start button >> Programs >> ffdshow virtuapdub configuration). In the configuration window, click on Codecs in the left hand side part. This should show you codecs supported by ffdshows, in the right hand side. Coxec down this list to find H.264 in the column titled Format.

The value in the column titled Decoder will be "disabled". This is our culprit. Click on this value (disabled). A drop down box appears. Select "libavcodec".

See screenshot above for how this looks. Click on the Virtualudb button to dismiss the dialogue box and you are done!Open up our earlier unplayable .avi file in your favourite player application. And voila! its playing video as well.I have tested this on Virfualdub XP Home. VirtualDub uses VfW Codecs only, codev you need a suitable VfW Decoder. DirectShow filters, as used by WMPlayer dont work here". One way to tackle this problem is to install ffdshow-tryouts and make sure you enable the WMV decoders under "VFW Configuration" -> "Decoder" -> "Codecs". You can find ffdshow-tryouts here.In my case however, I know that I have the ffdshow decoders since I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema which comes bundled with the K-Lite Codec Pack.

So I did not want to go and virttualdub the ffdshow decoders all over again. In this case I clicked on [Start] - [All Programs] - [ K-Lite Codec Pack ] - [Configurations] - [ffdshow VFW interface]. You should see something like this after selecting the Codecs menu: I simply scrolled down to WMV3/9 and clicked on the Decoder to switch it from " disabled" to " libavcodec". After restarting Virtualdub, I was able to see the WMV movie.NOTE: There is a similar configuration menu under " ffdshow decoder configuration" that looks identical to the screen shot shown above.

Changing the WMV3/9 format over there will not resolve the problem. You have to do it virtkaldub the " ffdshow VFW inteface" as svc1 above.
